After careful consideration, Easttown Township will be following the lead of the State as well as that of Chester County and activating an essential employee only operation for the next two weeks due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus).  Effectively immediately, the Township and its operations will close to the public, and all Township meetings have been cancelled.  The Township will be operating at minimal staffing levels during the next two weeks. The Township will continue to monitor the situation and make changes to this policy as needed.

Building Permits – Residential and commercial permit applicants will only be accepted via US Mail. We will also be limiting the number of inspections through the 31st of March.

Public Works- Our Public Works Department will be conducting limited work during this time. Our Sewer Department will continue to operate our pump stations as normal.  Employees working will be following recommended social distancing as well as limiting any public interaction.

Parks - Township parks are open, however, the playground at Hilltop is closed and all comfort stations and restrooms will be closed.

Trash and Recycling- Trash and recycling collection will continue on its normal collection schedule.

Library – The Township Library is closed through at least the 31st of March.

Police – The Easttown Police Department will continue to respond to calls as normal while taking necessary steps to protect the health and safety of emergency personnel and the public.

Fire/EMS – Our volunteer fire companies and their EMS teams will continue to respond to calls as normal while taking necessary steps to protect the health and safety of the emergency personnel and the public.

We understand these are difficult and challenging times. This will require cooperation and flexibility and everyone has a role to play. The Township operations will function but in a much more limited capacity. Emergency services and vital public services will NOT be affected.

It is important that you follow the recommendation of the appropriate health agencies.
