UPDATE: The Township expects that the closure will start during the week of November 27 from 9 am to 4 pm on weekdays and that it will take several weeks to complete the work.
PECO is scheduled to close Newtown Road weekdays between Waterloo Road and Sugartown Road in Easttown Township, Chester County, on Thursday, October 26, through Thursday, November 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for gas main installation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
During construction, Newtown Road traffic will be detoured over Waterloo Road, Church Road, and Sugartown Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area. The schedule is weather dependent.
PECO will complete the work under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
