New Contractor Registration Requirements
Effective July 1, 2009

In accordance with the Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act (Pennsylvania's Act 132 of 2008), all contractors who perform at least $5,000 worth of home improvements per year must register with the Attorney General's Office.

The Township's contractor registration card will not satisfy the Attorney General's requirements.

Effective July 1, 2009, Easttown Township will not accept any building permit application unless it is accompanied by proof that the Contractor(s) is/are  registered with the Attorney General's Office.  In addition, the Township will not accept any building permit application unless it is accompanied by proof that the Contractor(s) is/are covered by Worker's Compensation insurance, or an affidavit stating that the Contractor(s) is/are exempt from Worker's Compensation insurance.

Pennsylvania consumers can verify a contractor's registration online or by calling 1-888-520-6680.
