Easttown Township is excited to introduce Sharp’s Woods as its newest public park. This 28-acre preserve, previously managed by Natural Lands, has been entrusted to the Township to ensure its continued stewardship and public access in perpetuity .
Sharp’s Woods offers a serene natural setting, featuring a mix of meadows and marshlands, with a mile of unpaved hiking trails. The preserve is home to diverse wildlife, including over 55 bird species such as the Great Blue Heron, Pileated Woodpecker, and Golden-crowned Kinglet . The headwaters of Darby Creek run through the preserve, enhancing its ecological significance.
In the coming weeks, Easttown Township will undertake necessary improvements to enhance the safety and accessibility of Sharp’s Woods. Crews will begin removing fallen trees, as well as dead and dying ash trees along the paths . These efforts are part of the Township's commitment to maintaining the preserve's natural beauty and ensuring a safe environment for visitors.
We kindly ask for the community's patience and understanding as these improvements are made. While some areas may be temporarily inaccessible, these enhancements will ultimately provide a more enjoyable and sustainable experience for all who visit.
Easttown Township is dedicated to preserving and enhancing its natural spaces for the enjoyment and well-being of its residents. We look forward to welcoming you to Sharp’s Woods and invite you to experience the tranquility and beauty it has to offer.
