The principal mission of the Easttown Township Police Department is to preserve the rights of citizens and reduce fear in the community through the prevention of crime, protection of persons and property, maintenance of public order, and enforcement of applicable laws and ordinances. We are committed to maintaining the highest level of ethics, integrity, and accountability through fair and impartial enforcement of the law while working in partnership with all segments of our diverse community in proactive efforts to reduce crime and address conditions that may foster the fear of crime.
Officers are on patrol 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Detectives review reports of criminal activity documented by uniformed patrol officers of the department. The Detectives then determine if a criminal act was committed and attempt to identify and apprehend the person(s) responsible. The Detectives will attempt to recover property that has been reported stolen. The Detective Unit is available 24/7 to respond to the scene of criminal activity or to assist the victim(s). Criminal acts we respond to include, but are not limited to: Homicide, Burglary, Arson, Aggravated Battery, Domestic Violence, and Sexual Assaults.
The Detective Unit is responsible for forensic examination of crime scenes and the collection, evaluation, and securing of evidence. The Detective Unit will provide the victim of sexual or domestic violence with resources such as: mental health referral, advocacy and planning, medical assistance, etc. In addition, assistance and support while maneuvering through the criminal court process will be made available.
The Detective Unit provides the highest quality of service to those who have been victimized by crime. Regardless of the severity of the offense, the unit looks to advocate for all victims and provide them with updated status of their cases.
The Traffic Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring that traffic safety on the township roadways is maintained for a safer driving community. Duties include:
